Is this Navigation System compatible with the ford edge? And can I still use the steering wheel audio controls?

Not my car, my moms, but she's to technologically challenged to work Yahoo Answers..

ANYWAYS! She drives a 2008 Ford Edge SEL. It doesn't have a Navigation System now, just the standard 6 disc AM/FM radio deal. We can't find anywhere to buy the Navigation System made specifically for the edge, but we have found one that we like. That where my question comes into play.

Okay, so this is the System we would like to install in the car:

It's the Eclipse AVN6620. Her question is, will it work in the edge? And can she still use the steering wheel mounted audio controls for the volume and what not?

If anyone could provide me with some feedback about it's compatibility or if they know where I can get the Ford Edge navigation system, please let me know.

Thanks in advance =)Is this Navigation System compatible with the ford edge? And can I still use the steering wheel audio controls?
Ford does offer a navi unit but be prepared to pay $1200+ for it. If you look on Crutchfield it is listed there, but after market is the way to go. Now, as far as the steering wheel controls go, yes they will work but plan on spending another $75-100 for an adapter from PAC. Without it, the controls will not work.Is this Navigation System compatible with the ford edge? And can I still use the steering wheel audio controls?
If you want the nav unit made specifically for your car, then you'll probably have to go the dealership.

and about your question. that system will work fine in her car. whether she can still use the steering wheel controls is kind of iffy. But there may be a wiring harness or something like it that will let you keep functionality of the steering wheel controls.
