With in Car Audio Using a USB Input do you control navigation through the library on the mp3 player or stereo?

I'm assuming you're talking about the head units that have a front panel USB jack. Some even have an SD card slot. So you would have to control navigation with the car stereo unit itself. The advantage here is that there's one less loose object in the driver's area.

If you want to control navigation via your mp3 player, look for one with a front auxiliary input. The advantage I see to this approach is that if you have a high quality MP3 player you can use it's capabilities, and you're not stuck with an inferior decoder in the head unit.

Shop around, and not just on the internet. Go to your local car stereo shops and take your USB drive with you. Any good retailer will let you plug your jumpdrive into their demo models.

And don't ever pay list price for anything. If a shop wants to charge you list price, shop the competition.
