Most consumer camcorders over $150 have a wireless infrared remote.
The Canon FS and HF (flash memory) and ZR 900, ZR930 and ZR960 (miniDV tape) have a mic jack... but no manual audio control. All have an infrared wireless remote.
The Canon HV30 and HV40 have a mic jack, manual audio control and wireless infrared remote.
If you want a wired remote (LANC), that will take more research - at the moment, I *think* the Sony HVR A1 might be the cheapest with that from a high definition format... the Canon GL2 may have it for standard def only.
To understand what the WIRELESS infrared remote can do, read the camcorder's manual - download that from the camcorder manufacturer's site (usually in the Support area).
