I think the sound is ran by SigmaTel?I have no sound on my laptop. I run with XP and have looked in Sound %26amp; Audio Devices in Control Panel.?
Is there a yellow exclamation mark or red x next to the sound card in device manager?

If not, its more than likely you have drivers installed

Try right clicking the entry and make sure its enabled

Make sure your sound isn't on Mute.I have no sound on my laptop. I run with XP and have looked in Sound %26amp; Audio Devices in Control Panel.?
If you have flushed your OS you may need the Realtec AC97 Audio Driver.. search, download, install
Just Check the Drivers of your Sound Card if you can't hear the voice maybe the Drivers are not installed properly.

so in that case just find the model name of your sound card and then find it on internet by going on google or at th official web site of your laptop manufacture.
you might have to reinstall your sound drivers. either reinstall your operating disk or get the drivers off the internet. and download them.
go to start, right click my computer, then left click manage, when the next page comes up click on DEVICE MANAGER,on the right you will see a list of components on your computer, scroll down to sound, video and game controllers, click the + sign to expand the tree and locate any sound devices, right click each, then click uninstall for each one and then restart computer and let windows recognize them again and it will reinstall the drivers too.
It sounds like you might be deaf. I would suggest speaking with a qualified medical professional for a thorough diagnosis. Hope this helps.
if you are using windows xp operationg system, use system restore, to restore your system seting by choosing start menu%26gt; all programs%26gt; asccessories%26gt; system tools%26gt; system restore. then pick the date where your soundcard was work fine, let your pc restart. done.
make sure the audio drivers are updated. Also check the volume/ speakers setting to make sure the volume is on
Hey, u jst reunstall the mother board drivers with the cd given 2 u when u buy d laptop...... After reinstalling jst restart the system and u can have sound in ur laptop......
If you have an HP, look on the front, if the blue light is on, hit the mute button next to it... my dad does that a lot.
If you have already installed the sound deviance, and it doesn't work, the ID version of Windows Xp is not good for your laptop. Get another version and install it again ;)
