This is very loud and annoying. Is there anything at Radio Shack or the internet I could buy to alleviate this? Appreciate your answers. Is there a way to control the audio increasing at tv commercials?
Not that I've ever seen in a standalone box. You'd need some kind of consumer level compressor/limiter that would work in real time. My Denon receiver has that function and I use it all the time, except for music programs where I don't want to compress the dynamics. It works pretty well, but some commercials are so loud not even that function can totally limit them.
You might want to hold off because congress is working on a bill called ';Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act'; to have the FCC enforce a limit to the volume of the commercials.
