Does anyone know about fixing the audio control on the pc?

ok pls read all of this before you answer me, first i accidentally deleted the multimedia audio from my pc, and now i cant hear any sound from my speakers or mic. i need to get this back on my pc so i can hear sounds, if i have to use a disc i dont know which disc to use, my mic came with my cam and i have one disc for the cam, but not for the mic, when i click on the yellow question mark next to the multimedia audio control it tells me the hardware was not installed cause it cannot find the necessary software. can someone pls tell me what to do to get this back on my pc?Does anyone know about fixing the audio control on the pc?
First, check your Recycle Bin and see if it is possibly in there to be restored. Second, if you must install software, my best guess is just to go ahead and reinstall the disc that came with the cam. (You may need to uninstall this and reinstall, do you have paperwork that came with it?) What version of Windows are you running, eg.: '95, '98, XP, etc... XP has a rollback utility, go back to another time, before you deleted it (multimedia audio). I have had help from the friendly folks at Radio Shack over the phone, believe it or not, in ';talking me through'; fixing some configuration settings. I have found the ones local to me to be really helpful and generous with their time and advice. Try giving them a call first if you aren't sure what to do.
