My computer keeps telling me I need drivers for the Media Audio Control it detec. Can I get help finding them?

I just bought a used computer with Windows 2000. When I start it the first thing that shows is that it detected new hardware called 'Media Audio Controller'. It asks me to find the drivers for this device, but I really dont know where to look for them, or if I have to download them. Also I did not get any installation cds with the computer so I cant reinstall anything (I think). In the device manager, the audio control has a yellow exclamation.Right now I dont have any sound in my computer I think due to this problem. Well, you're right, you need the drivers, the question is which audio solution do you have. My guess is some kind of Realtek as these are very common in laptops but if you get the wrong one, it will install or not work or will install and not work, you have to get the driver that matches your device. Unfortunately there aren't many ways to look this up unless you actually have the driver installed, Windows can't tell you what it is. So, the best thing you can do right now is to look up the model number online and see if that turns anything up. In the case of integrated solutions, Windows Update might turn up a driver so you can try that. That is, if we are talking about an integrated solution. If we are talking about a dedicated sound card then it is probably creative but again, you would have to know which one to install the correct drivers. First of all u should ask your seller about what kind of sound card


is it for your computer, and then you may ';google'; to search the proper drivers for that. The computer having no sound IS because your Media Audio Control doesn't work without corresponding driver.Go to get one and then install the driver and you will enjoy the music!
It's probably for a sound card. It maybe integrated into the motherboard. Go to either the manufacturer of the sound card chipset or the manufacturer of your computer to download the sound driver.





If you are an advanced user you can go to the Device Manager and find the deviceID in the properties of the detected hardware (look under details and it will tell you the vendor ID at least) and look it up on google to find the vendor and the chipset for the sound chip.





Or running a utility like SANDRA might also help you find out what sound chip comes with that computer.
the yellow mark means theres something wrong with the configuration of your hardware to your operating system. try this two things, first find out the manufacturer of your sound card, if its build up with motherboard or separated with sound card, got to the website of tthat manufacturer and download the driver for that device. or try to reformat your computer with windows xp, because windows xp support multiple hardware that fits to this operating system. because on windows xp, simply plug and play on any device.
Try going to:





start, run, type msinfo32, press enter --- then press the plus button next to the components category, check out sound/audio tab, and look for the sound device make and model, go to the manufacturers website, and download the appropriate drivers. A restart of your computer may be necessary.
