How do you control the audio alert when an e-mail arrives?

Sometimes it works,sometimes not. I like the feature and would like it on all the time.How do you control the audio alert when an e-mail arrives?
It should be either be on all the time or off all the time.


If you happen to have turned down your volume control


you won't hear it.

My speakers, have the sound knob. So it's no problem.
