A standard stereo unit may or may not be able to accept the steering wheel controls, it has to be compatible to work and if not there is nothing you can do except use only the facia controls on the new unit you want to put in.Bought an vauxhall astra that has audio control on the stearring wheel?
When you buy the wire harness to connect the stereo to your car, either it will come with it or you would have to buy a separate wire harness to connect it to the steering wheel. Just ask a car audio/installation shop and they'll be able to tell you if you need to get a separate one and any other questions about installing it.
